Plays 16 snaps vs. Dolphins
SWashington Commanders
August 20, 2024
Forrest (hamstring) finished Saturday's preseason game against the Dolphins with one tackle while playing 16 snaps (13 on offense, three on special teams).
ANALYSIS
Forrest had been held out of practice since early August after sustaining a hamstring injury. He played in just five regular-season games last year due to a shoulder fracture in October, and his hamstring injury has prevented him from taking valuable reps with the defense. After starting at safety over the last two seasons, Forrest appears to be slated to serve in a backup role behind Jeremy Chinn and Quan Martin.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Forest barely played in 2021 as a rookie fifth-round pick, but he became a crucial part of Washington's defense last year after moving into the starting free safety spot midseason, ultimately recording 88 tackles and a team-high four interceptions across 17 games (11 starts). His per-snap tackle rate wasn't far behind strong safety Kamren Curl's, and while Curl is the favorite to make more tackles this season, Forrest is back as a starter and also could have IDP value.
