Cedrick Wilson

28-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
New Orleans Saints
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Wilson signed with the Saints this offseason. The receiver could compete with A.T. Perry for the No. 3 role. Wilson played 15 games for the Dolphins last year. Although Wilson played at least 33 snaps in 10 games, he failed to reach 300 yards. Going into his sixth season, it’s possible that Wilson’s career year was in 2021 with Dallas. In that season, the veteran posted 602 yards and six touchdowns. Wilson’s next best season represented less than half of his 2021 production. The most likely scenario is that Wilson settles in as the No. 4 receiver in New Orleans. Read Past Outlooks

Wilson (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Wilson was initially listed as questionable for Week 4 due to an ankle injury, but he's managed to suit up for Sunday's key divisional matchup. The journeyman wideout logged his first catch of the season versus the Eagles in Week 3, a three-yard gain. Wilson will work to make more of an impact behind top wideouts Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed against Atlanta.

Wilson seems, on paper, like the perfect fit for coach Mike McDaniel's scheme, so it was underwhelming to say the least to see him limited to an 18-136-1 receiving line in the first season of his three-year, $22.8 million contract with the Dolphins. To stick in Miami it's possible Wilson might need to take a pay cut, but the team may still be intrigued by his potential. Wilson boasts the exact skill set the Dolphins need in a slot complement to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but he'll need to compete with Robbie Chosen and Braxton Berrios for complementary snaps.
Wilson will line up in a familiar role as the No. 3 option behind two star receivers in Miami, after hav-ing done so with CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper back in Dallas. As a versatile player, and one who posted two 100-yard games last season, totaling 45-602-6 in 16 games, Wilson could thrive while defenses focus on Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.
Wilson was one of the beneficiaries of the Cowboys' all-offense approach early in the season, catching two touchdowns Week 3 and throwing one to Dak Prescott on a trick play Week 5. Once Prescott was lost for the season, however, Wilson's role evaporated. As a versatile No. 4 receiver in a potent aerial attack, Wilson could have the occasional big game again in 2021, but it would likely take an injury to one of Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb or Michael Gallup for the 2018 sixth-round pick to see consistent targets.
A sixth-round pick in 2018, Wilson has battled injuries his first two years in the NFL but did make his debut last season, catching five of eight targets for 46 yards over six games. His athleticism still makes him intriguing and his experience in Kellen Moore's offensive scheme should allow him to secure a depth role in Dallas, but targets will be hard to find barring an injury to the likes of Amari Cooper or Michael Gallup.
Wilson spent his entire rookie season on IR with a shoulder injury, and a concussion suffered in the first preseason game of 2019 makes him a long shot to win a roster spot once again despite his athletic tools as a receiver.
A 2018 sixth-round pick out of Boise State, Wilson joins a Cowboys depth chart that saw over 200 targets head out the door with Jason Witten's retirement and Dez Bryant's release. Wilson doesn't have the speed or physicality to make an immediate impact in the NFL, but his size and athleticism give him some versatility and red-zone appeal, and the converted high-school quarterback should only get more polished in his routes once he gains experience. Wilson will take a redshirt for his rookie season after suffering a shoulder injury during training camp, but he's expected to have surgery in August and should be ready for the Cowboys' offseason program next year.

Veteran presence for Saints
WRNew Orleans Saints
March 30, 2024
Head coach Dennis Allen noted Wednesday that the Saints brought in Wilson to give "a little bit of veteran presence, somebody that's kind of been there, done that," Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson signed a two-year contract with the Saints on March 14 after spending the last two seasons with the Dolphins. His best season was in 2021 with the Cowboys, when he posted 45 catches for 602 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs. The Saints have a young receiving corps with Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and A.T. Perry, and Wilson figures to slide into a complementary role, similar to how he played behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in Miami.
