2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wilson joined New Orleans on a two-year contract in 2024 after totaling 432 receiving yards over his previous two seasons in Miami. The 29-year-old never emerged into a larger role despite a bevy of injuries to the Saints' starting receivers, finishing with 20 catches (on 27 targets) for 211 yards and one touchdown over 15 games. Wilson agreed to restructure his contract and reduce his 2025 salary this offseason. He'll look for a depth role behind Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks. Read Past Outlooks

Wilson (undisclosed) won't practice this week, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson was signed by the Dolphins off the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, but it now appears he's dealing with an undisclosed injury. The Boise State product played in 15 games with the Saints in 2024, catching 20 of 27 targets for 211 yards and one touchdown. If Wilson is sidelined for the Week 5 matchup against the Panthers, Miami may add another wide receiver to its active roster to bolster depth with Tyreek Hill (knee) unavailable.

Wilson signed with the Saints this offseason. The receiver could compete with A.T. Perry for the No. 3 role. Wilson played 15 games for the Dolphins last year. Although Wilson played at least 33 snaps in 10 games, he failed to reach 300 yards. Going into his sixth season, it’s possible that Wilson’s career year was in 2021 with Dallas. In that season, the veteran posted 602 yards and six touchdowns. Wilson’s next best season represented less than half of his 2021 production. The most likely scenario is that Wilson settles in as the No. 4 receiver in New Orleans.
Wilson seems, on paper, like the perfect fit for coach Mike McDaniel's scheme, so it was underwhelming to say the least to see him limited to an 18-136-1 receiving line in the first season of his three-year, $22.8 million contract with the Dolphins. To stick in Miami it's possible Wilson might need to take a pay cut, but the team may still be intrigued by his potential. Wilson boasts the exact skill set the Dolphins need in a slot complement to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but he'll need to compete with Robbie Chosen and Braxton Berrios for complementary snaps.
Wilson will line up in a familiar role as the No. 3 option behind two star receivers in Miami, after hav-ing done so with CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper back in Dallas. As a versatile player, and one who posted two 100-yard games last season, totaling 45-602-6 in 16 games, Wilson could thrive while defenses focus on Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.
Wilson was one of the beneficiaries of the Cowboys' all-offense approach early in the season, catching two touchdowns Week 3 and throwing one to Dak Prescott on a trick play Week 5. Once Prescott was lost for the season, however, Wilson's role evaporated. As a versatile No. 4 receiver in a potent aerial attack, Wilson could have the occasional big game again in 2021, but it would likely take an injury to one of Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb or Michael Gallup for the 2018 sixth-round pick to see consistent targets.
A sixth-round pick in 2018, Wilson has battled injuries his first two years in the NFL but did make his debut last season, catching five of eight targets for 46 yards over six games. His athleticism still makes him intriguing and his experience in Kellen Moore's offensive scheme should allow him to secure a depth role in Dallas, but targets will be hard to find barring an injury to the likes of Amari Cooper or Michael Gallup.
Wilson spent his entire rookie season on IR with a shoulder injury, and a concussion suffered in the first preseason game of 2019 makes him a long shot to win a roster spot once again despite his athletic tools as a receiver.
A 2018 sixth-round pick out of Boise State, Wilson joins a Cowboys depth chart that saw over 200 targets head out the door with Jason Witten's retirement and Dez Bryant's release. Wilson doesn't have the speed or physicality to make an immediate impact in the NFL, but his size and athleticism give him some versatility and red-zone appeal, and the converted high-school quarterback should only get more polished in his routes once he gains experience. Wilson will take a redshirt for his rookie season after suffering a shoulder injury during training camp, but he's expected to have surgery in August and should be ready for the Cowboys' offseason program next year.

Top-three role in banged-up WR room
WRNew Orleans Saints
October 17, 2024
Wilson is positioned to post his best game as a member of the Saints on Thursday against the Broncos, as Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports that Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed have been ruled out due to a concussion and knee injury, respectively.
ANALYSIS
Wilson has been a non-factor in New Orleans, producing only three catches for 31 yards through six games with the Saints. That's likely to change Thursday, as the absences of Olave and Shaheed leave the Saints with a wide receiver depth chart of Mason Tipton, Bub Means and Wilson prior to any additions from the practice squad. Tipton and Means have a combined 85 receiving yards in their NFL careers, so Wilson's veteran presence will be important as rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler leads the Saints' depleted passing game.
