Rest-of-Season Projections
Won't play Week 1
Brooks (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
The Texans will go with a four-man backfield that includes Nick Chubb, Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale and Woody Marks, which means Brooks will be in street clothes for Sunday's regular-season opener. Brooks' next chance to play is Week 2 against the Buccaneers on Monday, Sept. 15, though he's unlikely to play in that contest unless there's an injury in Houston's backfield.

This Week's Opposing Pass Defense
How does the Buccaneers pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?
The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. The team and position group ratings only include players that are currently on the roster and not on injured reserve. The list of players in the table only includes defenders with at least 3 attempts against them.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Part of Mixon-less RB room
Brooks is one of five running backs that made Houston's 53-man roster after the team placed placed Joe Mixon on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Brooks' role will likely come on special teams, but it's still noteworthy that he's part of a backfield mix that suddenly has a potential path to playing time on offense through at least the first four weeks. Brooks would likely need to leapfrog at least one or two of Nick Chubb, Dameon Pierce, Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale to play snaps on offense, but none of those players had more than 332 rushing yards at the NFL level last season.
