Blake Watson

24-Year-Old Running BackRB
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The latest versatile back out of Memphis, Watson is a converted wide receiver who's a willing pass protector and a tough runner in the open field, and he showed good balance and vision in college. A lack of size and speed caused him to go undrafted though, and signing with the Broncos gives him a tough path to playing time with Javonte Williams, Samaje Perine and Jaleel McLaughlin all looking for snaps. Watson may have to bide his time on the practice squad, but his well-rounded skill set could get him a look if injuries hit the Denver backfield. Read Past Outlooks

Watson (coach's decision) is listed as inactive for Sunday's game at the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Watson will have to wait at least one more week to make his NFL debut. In his stead, Tyler Badie will suit up for the second straight week to serve as Denver's third option out of the backfield.

NFL upside despite going undrafted
RBDenver Broncos
May 5, 2024
Watson is the top rookie undrafted free agent to watch for the Broncos and has a good chance of carving out an NFL career, according to Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dotcherman of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Baumgardner and Dotcherman point out that numerous undrafted running backs have eventually earned playing time in recent years, and Watson out of Memphis could turn into the latest addition to that list. Watson rushed for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023 while adding 53 catches for 480 yards and three touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 195-pound running back ran a 4.40-second 40-yard dash at Memphis' Pro Day, showcasing excellent speed to go with his impressive production.
