2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Tuten (5-foot-9, 206 pounds) is one of the fastest running backs in the league (4.32 40) and a threat to make defenses pay the long-distance price for poor containment -- but so is Travis Etienne. The difference to Jacksonville is that Etienne is on the last year of his rookie contract, while Tuten, a rookie fourth-round pick, is probably somewhat raw for now. Taking whatever Etienne can give this year before moving to Tuten beyond 2025 is a reasonable plan. To take on a leading role, Tuten will need to significantly improve his ball security and passing-down skills from what he showed at Virginia Tech. Fellow Jacksonville runner Tank Bigsby fumbles too much, yet Tuten's collegiate fumbling in comparison was magnitudes worse. Tuten fumbled 10 times on 428 touches the past two years, and if he keeps coughing it up at anything similar to that rate, he simply will not play. On the other hand, Etienne and Bigsby are vulnerable to competition if Tuten can improve his ball security and become more than just a size-speed freak. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Joins Jaguars' backfield
The Jaguars selected Tuten in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 104th overall.
ANALYSIS
Tuten was lightly recruited coming out of high school but emerged as a key contributor at Virginia Tech during his final two years in college, combining to score 25 touchdowns while handling 356 total carries. He then helped his draft stock further by running an impressive 4.32 40-yard dash at the combine while also showing a lot of burst in short-area drills. Tuten's landing spot isn't likely to lead to production early in the 2025 season, as both Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby are in the mix, but this will be a situation worth monitoring with a new coaching staff making decisions.

Placed in Clay's Wild Card tier
Mike Clay of ESPN places Tuten, whom the Jaguars selected in the fourth round out of Virginia Tech in the 2025 NFL Draft, in his Wild Card tier of rookie running backs for the upcoming season.
ANALYSIS
Clay is high on Tuten's elite efficiency and "blazing fast" speed, which was corroborated by a 4.32 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine. Tuten also recorded a 40.5-inch vertical jump at the event, and he averaged 6.3 yards per carry, including 3.8 yards after first contact, during his final college season. However, Tuten's issues with negative-yardage runs, which came on 22.0 percent of his college carries, and draft-class-high 2.5 percent fumble rate combine with the presence of both Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby to cloud the rookie's 2025 outlook.
