Lands on IR with toe injury
The Seahawks placed Burns on injured reserve Tuesday due to a toe injury, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Burns injured his toe during the Seahawks' Week 6 loss against the 49ers on Thursday. It's the same toe he injured during the preseason, and the 2016 first-round pick will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 12 against the Cardinals on Nov. 24 the earliest he can return.

After missing the 2020 season with a torn ACL, Burns re-signed with the Bears on a one-year deal for the 2021 season. There's an excellent chance that if he's fully recovered, that he steps in as the full-time slot corner, which could result in a high tackle total. Although he's intercepted just four passes in 58 career games, he recorded 65 and 54 tackles in 2016 and 2017, so if he's on the field regularly, he's capable of providing fantasy managers a solid scoring floor in IDP leagues.

Burns doesn't expect to re-sign with the Steelers this offseason with his rookie contract set to expire in March, Jacob Klinger of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2016 first-round pick's underwhelming career in Pittsburgh may have essentially ended in November, as he last suited up Week 11 against the Browns. Burns logged just one start all season, which came in Week 6 against the Chargers, when Steven Nelson was sidelined by injury. Burns confirmed his realization that he had pretty much been "out the door" for some time. As a 24-year-old cornerback who already boasts 42 games of NFL experience, Burns should receive his fair share of attention on the open market.
