Taylor is coming off a new career high in tackles for the second year in a row, tallying 89 stops over 17 regular-season appearances in 2024. He also recorded a career-high 4.0 sacks after totaling just 1.0 over the previous two campaigns. With 15 starts last year, the 2022 second-round pick served as the Saints' top cornerback after the team traded Marshon Lattimore to the Commanders in November. Taylor's sack of Kyler Murray came late in the fourth quarter and forced a Cardinals punt that allowed the Saints a final drive to try to come back from a six-point deficit. The 2022 second-round draft pick posted a career-high 4.0 sacks last season, and he's off to a strong start in that category in 2025. However, Taylor logged a modest 55 percent of the Saints' defensive snaps Sunday. That may have been due to the groin injury he dealt with during the week leading up to the contest.

Taylor totaled career highs across the board last season with 75 tackles, 14 passes defended and two interceptions. The 2022 second-round pick formed the Saints' top cornerback duo alongside Paulson Adebo while Marshon Lattimore was sidelined for much of the season. Lattimore still is the team's clear top cornerback when he's healthy, and Adebo entered the 2023 campaign as the team's other outside cornerback. Therefore, it's likely that Taylor and rookie Kool-Aid McKinstry will compete for the starting nickel role.
