2024 Fantasy Outlook
Barner’s the definition of a project, so he’s unlikely to play a significant role for Seattle in 2024 after being selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. In 40 college games split between Indiana and Michigan, Barner had just 610 yards and five touchdowns. Barner’s 6-foot-6, and his 82-inch wingspan is the largest among tight ends in the 2024 draft class, so he has the tools to develop into a red-zone threat, but he’s far from a burner (4.84-second 40-yard dash). If Barner can excel early as a blocker despite being light for his height (251 pounds), he has a chance to push Pharaoh Brown for the top backup spot behind Noah Fant as a rookie. Read Past Outlooks
Reels in four passes
Barner caught four of seven targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Lead tight end Noah Fant (groin) was inactive, leading to Barner handling a 91 percent snap share. Barner was clearly part of the game plan but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity. The Seahawks are on bye in Week 10, and Fant could remain out in Week 11 versus the 49ers, which would make Barner an intriguing deep-league option.

ANALYSIS
The tight end is viewed as the best blocker at his position in this year's draft class, but Barner's skills as a pass catcher might have been under-utilized in the Wolverines' offensive scheme and could blossom at the next level. The 6-foot-6, 251-pound Barner is typically projected to go in the third or fourth round of the 2024 Draft.
