What does punting mean in fantasy baseball?
"Punting" means ignoring one of the rotisserie or head-to-head categories when assembling a roster. For example, you could completely ignore a category or categories that are scarce like steals or saves. This doesn't mean you refuse to draft players who contribute in that category, it just means that you don't factor their contributions in that category into your valuation of that player. This strategy makes the most sense in head-to-head category leagues, as you can assemble a team that is very strong in the majority of the categories while willfully losing one or more categories every week. It can be pulled off in 5x5 roto leagues, but is more difficult.
