South Africa vs. Pakistan: Second ODI Preview

South Africa are ready to face Pakistan in the second one-day international of the five-match series in Durban on Tuesday. The match is an important one for the home side as they don't have much room for mistakes after losing the series opener by five wickets in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. Kingsmead in Durban will be used as a venue for the contest, which will be hosting its 42nd match in the 50-over format. Highest score at the venue of 372-6 was registered by South Africa in the match against Australia in 2016-17, whereas highest individual score of 128 was registered by West Indies' great Brian Lara. Four bowlers have taken five wickets in an ODI at the venue, but none of them was from South Africa.

In the batting department, Proteas will be once again relying on the likes of veteran opener Hashim Amla, captain Faf du Plessis and explosive left-hander David Miller to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of pacer Kagiso Rabada and veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir to provide timely breakthroughs.

On the other hand, Pakistan will enter the contest with high confidence after registering an impressive win in the first ODI, which was a welcome result following thrashing in the recently concluded three-Test series. In the batting department, visitors will be relying on the likes of in-form trio of veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, opener Imam-Ul-Haq, young Babar Azam alongwith experienced Shoaib Malik to score bulk
