The Lions still sit last in the standings, though they're on an upward trend, earning their third straight win with a 10-4 victory in Friday's series opener. That defeat was the Guardians' third in a row, but they'll have the excellent Henry Sosa on the mound as they try to get back in the win column Saturday. His 4.62 ERA through eight starts this season is a far cry from his 1.56 ERA in 12 outings last year, but he's looked much better of late, allowing a total of five earned runs across his last three starts, striking out 16 while walking just three. The Lions will turn to Josh Roenicke, whose 9.24 ERA in six outings this season is rather hard to defend. He did record ERAs of 3.17 and 3.50 in his first two CPBL seasons, but he seemingly hasn't been the same pitcher this year.

Henry Sosa, Guardians: Both pitchers were quite good last season and considerably worse this year, but Sosa has been far better than Josh Roenicke in both campaigns. With the way he's pitched lately, he's the rare CPBL pitcher worth trusting with a captain spot.
Hu Chin-Lung, Guardians: The veteran leadoff man is one of the more reliable hitters in the Guardians' lineup and deserves captain consideration. He's hit .317 with six homers and four steals this year.
Lin An-Ko, Lions: Lin makes for a strong captain choice for those building a Lions-based lineup. He ranks third in the league in both RBI (35) and runs (36).
Kao Kuo-Hui, Guardians: Coming in at just 6.5 credits, Kao is quite cheap for a player who frequently finds himself batting near the middle of the Guardians' lineup. He's appeared in just 16 games this season but has already homered three times.
