Turning pro
Jacobs has decided to forgo his senior season at Alabama and will turn pro, Michael Casagrande of AL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After a pair of seasons on the periphery, Jacobs earned more reps out of the backfield in 2018, rushing 120 times for 640 yards and 11 touchdowns while hauling in another 20 passes for 247 yards and three more scores. Jacobs -- a 5-foot-10, 216-pound back -- is a punishing runner that is reliable around the goal line and catches the ball well out of the backfield. Although his speed doesn't jump off the game tape, he reportedly ran a 4.50 40 as a sophomore, which would have placed him sixth among running backs at the 2018 NFL Combine. His departure leaves Najee Harris as the presumed lead back for Alabama next season.
