2025 Fantasy Outlook
Donelson was used sparingly early in his freshman season, seeing just 44 carries in his first eight games while backing up Malik Sherrod. However, after Sherrod was sidelined with an injury, Donelson eventually took over as the Bulldogs' primary back, finishing the campaign with 263 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries in his final three contests. Donelson will be the early favorite to open 2025 as Fresno State's primary back and seems the likely candidate to handle the bulk of the carries ahead of Elijah Gilliam and Arizona transfer Rayshon Luke, who should see some work as well. Given the roster overhaul at both quarterback and wide receiver, there's a definite possibility Fresno State leans more heavily on the run in 2025, and Donelson looks like the primary contender to benefit most if that occurs. Held in check Week 0
Donelson logged 11 carries for 34 yards and gathered in his only target for 39 yards during Saturday's 31-7 loss to Kansas.
ANALYSIS
Donelson's biggest play came early in the game, when he broke off a 39-yard reception on Fresno State's opening drive. However, Kansas would jump out to a 24-7 lead in the first half, forcing the Bulldogs into a pass-heavy approach early, thus limiting Donelson's involvement. Furthermore, Arizona transfer Rayshon Luke also saw an elevated role in Saturday's contest, running the ball seven times. While the sophomore Donelson is still likely the top option in the backfield, he could find himself in a timeshare situation as Luke, Elijah Gilliam and Brandon Ramirez are all expected to see work as well.
