Julian Sayin News: Competing for starting role
Sayin is competing with Lincoln Kienholz for the QB1 role ahead of the season opener against Texas on Aug. 30, Joe Reedy of the Killeen Daily Herald reports.
Head coach Ryan Day acknowledged that both signal-callers have shown progress throughout the first week of preseason practices, so he hasn't made a decision yet. Sayin is believed to have a slight edge in the race, but right now, it's too close to call. Sayin completed five of 12 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown in 2024 for the Buckeyes.
