2024 Tournament PreviewThe rebuild took perhaps longer than expected, but coach Fred Hoiberg has Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since he took over in 2019. The Cornhuskers didn't lose at home in Big Ten play, including a 16-point victory over No. 1 seed Purdue. On the road, however, they were 2-7 in conference, their first win not coming until late February at lowly Indiana. A 1-1 showing in the conference tournament didn't reassure. Nebraska is balanced, ranking 33rd in offensive efficiency and 30th in defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Senior Keisei Tominaga (14.9 ppg) shoots 37.2 percent from 3-point range, while 6-7 junior Brice Williams (13.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg) hits on 39.2 percent from deep. The paint is patrolled by 6-10 Rienk Mast (12.5 ppg, 7.6 rpg), as the Huskers hold opponents to the 15th-lowest effective field-goal percentage in the nation. It's fair to wonder, though, how the Huskers will fare outside of Lincoln.
