In hindsight, it made sense why Sandfort was part of Iowa's 2024-25 team. It included his brother Payton as a teammate and was head coached by Fran McCaffery, who gave the non-senior Sandfort ample playing time. But now, both are gone. With two years of collegiate eligibility and a redshirt remaining, so may Sandfort. The sophomore's departure is not guaranteed though. According to Tyler Tachman of the Des Moines Register, Sandfort is keeping all options open, so his re-enrollment at Iowa remains plausible.
