2025 Fantasy Outlook
After three years in Memphis, Williams moved to Brooklyn in 2024-25 and had a career year. He started 45 of 63 appearances, averaging 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals in 24.5 minutes. He shot 34.1 percent from deep on 4.8 three-point attempts per game. The Nets' offense will run through Cam Thomas and Michael Porter, with Nic Claxton locking down the paint. However, beyond that, this rotation is a mess. Terance Mann and Haywood Highsmith are the veterans of the group at 28 years old and will likely have sizable roles, but shouldn't the Nets prioritize minutes for their five first-round draft picks? Not to mention returning wing players like Williams, Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson and Tyrese Martin, who all deserve another look after solid performances last season. Williams may not have a starting role to begin his second campaign in Brooklyn, but he figures to be a key member of a rotation that'll have a ton of moving parts throughout the campaign. However, the expected lack of consistency in his role will make it difficult for Williams to deliver top-250 value. Read Past Outlooks
Starting Friday
Williams is in the starting lineup for Friday's matchup with the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Williams is getting the start with Michael Porter (back) unavailable, and he'll be joined in the first unit by Terance Mann, Egor Demin, Noah Clowney and Nic Claxton. Williams is hit-or-miss, but he'll have a lot of shots falling his way Friday, so he could be someone to consider streaming in deep leagues if you need some points and triples.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Coming off an encouraging rookie season, Williams' role was reduced during the 2022-23 campaign. His playing time fell from 21.7 minutes per game to just 15.2. With averages of 5.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.6 combined steals and blocks, he ended the season well outside the top 400 in standard formats. The addition of Luke Kennard late in the season only complicates matters further for Williams. Given the fact he showed very little improvement, Williams' minutes could be reduced even further, at least in the short term. Outside of very deep leagues, he is not worth spending a draft pick on.

Coach explains lack of minutes
Nets coach Jordi Fernandez said it was a coach's decision to not use Williams in Monday's game against the Knicks, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
"It was just my decision. I wanted to challenge him with his defense," Fernandez said. "Last year, he was elite in a lot of the things that we care defensively, from ball pressure to deflections to pick-and-roll defense to defending isolations, and he was huge and I haven't felt that energy. And then, I can go through the numbers, and they were not there. So I challenge him to do that." Williams was averaging 23.0 minutes across 14 appearances prior to Monday, and it will be interesting to see if he can back the favor of his head coach.
