Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Scotty Maurice Pippen Jr. was born in Portland, Oregon in November of 2000. At the time, his Hall of Fame father, Scottie Pippen, was playing for the Trail Blazers. Scotty Jr.'s mother is Larsa and he has three siblings. From kindergarten through the tenth grade, Pippen attended Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His family moved to Los Angeles before Pippen's high school junior season, which led Pippen to transfer to Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth. At Sierra Canyon, Pippen was teammates with future NBA players Marvin Bagley III, Cassius Stanley and Kenyan Martin Jr. As a senior, Pippen posted 16.3 points, 3.6 boards and 4.6 dimes per game and was named to the Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Daily News All-Area teams. Pippen then committed to play college ball at Vanderbilt University. As a freshman Commodore in 2019-20, Pippen started 31 of 32 games and delivered 12.0 points, 2.8 boards and 3.6 assists over 30 minutes per contest. When Vandy lost Aaron Nesmith and Saben Lee to the NBA, Pippen took more of a leadership role as a sophomore. He upped his numbers in 2020-21 to 20.8 points and 4.9 assists in 22 starts, before a hip injury forced him to miss games late in the season. Pippen returned to Vanderbilt for his junior season, delivered similar stats and was named to both the coaches and AP All-SEC first team while also making the SEC Academic Honor Roll. In April of 2022, Pippen declared himself eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft, but was not selected. He then signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dishes out 13 assists
GMemphis Grizzlies
November 3, 2024
Pippen notched 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, 13 assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Saturday's 124-107 victory over Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS Pippen secured his third double-double of the young season with the help of yet another sparkling performance as a passer. The Vandy product has consistently produced off the bench so far this year, averaging 11.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 25.1 minutes. His playing time may take a small hit once Marcus Smart (ankle) and Luke Kennard (foot) return to play, but it's tough to imagine Pippen not seeing close to 20 minutes a night even when the team gets healthy, at least while he's producing at his current level.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set for big role off bench
GMemphis Grizzlies
October 14, 2024
Pippen is mentioned as one of several role players who could outperform expectations in the 2024-25 season, according to John Hollinger of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS Pippen was expected to battle it out with Derrick Rose for the backup point guard role behind Ja Morant, but since Rose retired, Pippen is expected to play a prominent role off the bench. He showed flashes of his talent in the G League in 2023-24 and was among the standout performers in the 2024 NBA 2K25 Summer League, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to deliver consistently in the NBA. Pippen's play off the bench could be the difference between making the playoffs and featuring in the Play-In Tournament for a Grizzlies team that's looking to bounce back in 2024-25.
