Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Brandon Williams was born in November of 1999 in Los Angeles. From 2014 to 2018, he attended Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California. Williams missed his junior high school basketball season due to knee surgery. But as a senior, after averaging 24.7 points and 2.4 steals per game, the guard was named the Los Angeles Daily News 2017-18 Player of the Year. He then committed to the University of Arizona. As a freshman Wildcat, Williams started 21 of 26 games and averaged 11.4 points, 3.4 assists and 1.4 made three-pointers over 28.2 minutes per game. Then off-season knee surgery once again cost Williams a year of basketball as he missed his sophomore year with Arizona. Williams left the university in 2020 to focus on his health and prepare for professional basketball. After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, Williams joined the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League. In late December of 2021, he signed a 10-day contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. After a second-stint with Westchester, Williams signed a two-way contract with Portland on February 22, 2022.
Leads team in assists off bench
GDallas Mavericks
April 19, 2025
Williams recorded 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Friday's 120-106 Play-In Game loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS Williams' quality outing off the bench wasn't enough for Dallas to avoid elimination from playoff contention. Williams spent a large portion of the 2024-25 season in the G League on a two-way deal but signed a standard, two-year contract with the Mavericks earlier in April. The 25-year-old guard averaged 8.3 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 14.8 minutes across 33 regular-season appearances, including three starts.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Williams split 2021-22 between the NBA and the G League, where he lit it up with the Westchester Knicks to the tune of 22.6 points, 6.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds over 33.1 minutes per game early in the campaign. His effort earned him a 10-day look with Portland in late December and a two-way deal in late February. Williams took advantage of his opportunity with a banged-up Trail Blazers squad down the stretch, averaging 13.6 points, 4.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 28.5 minutes per contest after the All-Star break. However, he's unlikely to repeat that output this season with Portland healthier to open 2022-23, and the second-year guard may bounce between the NBA and the G League again this year. As a result, he is likely only an attractive fantasy option in the deepest of formats.

Summer League graduate
GFree Agent
July 20, 2023
Williams averaged 17.3 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field across four Summer League starts for Minnesota. He missed Minnesota's final contest with a bruised knee.
ANALYSIS Williams knocked down only five of 16 three-point attempts -- which has been the Achilles heel of his NBA career thus far. Other than that, he's been a very serviceable backup point guard at the NBA level for Portland and would be a quality floor general at most levels. The 6-foot-2 guard will likely have a multitude of choices for his next opportunity.
