Bulls Top Short-Handed Pelicans, 114-106
The Chicago Bulls defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 114-106, at Smoothie King Center on Sunday night.

The Bulls (27-30) came into the contest with an inherent advantage of facing a Pelicans (34-24) squad missing CJ McCollum (ankle), and they capitalized early by jumping out to a 28-21 lead through one. However, New Orleans roared back in the second with a 39-point haul, allowing the hosts to erase their deficit and build a three-point halftime edge. Nevertheless, Chicago whittled its deficit down to one in the third, and the visitors ultimately managed to prevail by gaining some offensive momentum in the final period on the way to a 33-point quarter.

DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 24 points, complementing them with seven assists and six rebounds. Nikola Vucevic generated a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double that included three assists and one steal. Ayo Dosunmu supplied 21 points, eight assists, three rebounds and three steals. Coby White delivered 16 points, six boards, three assists and two steals. Alex Caruso registered 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Brandon Ingram paced the Pelicans with 22 points, supplementing them with six assists, three rebounds, three steals and one block. Zion Williamson contributed a 19-point, 11-assist double-double that included eight rebounds and two blocks. Herbert Jones managed 15 points, six assists, three rebounds and one block. Jonas Valanciunas finished with a 14-point, 17-rebound double-double that included one block. Matt Ryan posted 14 points and four rebounds.

The Bulls return home to host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night, while the Pelicans visit the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
