The New York Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 102-93, at Madison Square Garden in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Sunday. The Knicks now lead the series 3-1.

The Knicks continue to play exceptionally well and showed efficiency on both ends of the court to increase their series lead against the Cavaliers. Thanks to this win, the Knicks are only one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals just for the second time in the last 22 years. New York got off to an excellent start here and raced out to a 30-23 lead in the first quarter, an advantage they’d increase to nine points after a 24-22 score in the second quarter. The Cavaliers played with a bigger sense of urgency in the third quarter and reduced the deficit to just two points after a 26-19 score, and they even tied the game with less than 10 minutes left. However, the Knicks would up the tempo, and the Cavaliers couldn’t respond. New York won the fourth quarter by a 29-22 score, and now they hold a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. Game 5 will be played Wednesday at Cleveland.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with 29 points, six rebounds and six assists across 43 minutes. RJ Barrett had 26 points. Josh Hart posted 19 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Julius Randle had a subpar performance and finished with seven points and two boards while shooting 3-for-10 from the field. Mitchell Robinson notched a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double. The big man also recorded two blocks.

Darius Garland led the way for the Cavaliers with 23 points, 10 assists and two rebounds. Caris LeVert posted 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Donovan Mitchell finished with 11 points, five assists and four rebounds. Mitchell also shot 5-for-18 from the field. Jarrett Allen delivered 14 points and four boards. Evan Mobley recorded 12 points, seven boards and two blocks before fouling out.
