Hornets Defeat Kings, 125-119
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the host Sacramento Kings, 125-119, at Golden 1 Center on Monday.

There were six ties and 15 lead changes in this game, with neither team leading by more than 12 points. Charlotte rode a 34-27 fourth quarter to their win, finishing the game on an 18-12 run over the closing 4:30. The Hornets shot 52 percent from the field and 74 percent from the free-throw line while holding the Kings to 47 percent from the field and 55 percent from the charity stripe (17-of-31). Charlotte also out-rebounded Sacramento, 64-52, while outscoring them in the paint, 72-58. They also quadrupled them in second-chance points, 24-6.

The Hornets (8-23) were led by Kelly Oubre, collecting 31 points and 10 rebounds. LaMelo Ball had 23 points, five rebounds and 12 assists before fouling out. Gordon Hayward had 19 points and five rebounds, while Mason Plumlee provided 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Nick Richards led the bench with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.

The Kings (16-13) were led by De'Aaron Fox, finishing with 37 points, five rebounds and two assists. Domantas Sabonis tallied 28 points, 23 rebounds and seven assists. Harrison Barnes amassed 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Malik Monk led the bench with 12 points and four assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Charlotte staying on the road to play the Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento staying home to face the Los Angeles Lakers.
