Jazz Outlast Pelicans In Utah
The Utah Jazz defeated the visiting New Orleans Pelicans, 132-129, at Vivint Arena on Thursday evening.

The game got out to a competitive start and the Jazz led 27-25 after one quarter. The visitors picked up their play in the second and outscored the Jazz by six, to take a four-point advantage into the break. Both sides came out strong in the third and poured in 33 points each, as it remained a four-point game heading into the final quarter. The score stayed tight through the fourth and the Jazz led by three with less than 10 seconds left in regulation, but the Pelicans came up clutch with a last-second three to force overtime. The Jazz responded by scoring the first four points in the extra period and maintained the upper hand the rest of the way for their second straight win. This marks the second straight loss for the Pelicans.

Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with 39 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals, in 39 minutes. Lauri Markkanen followed up with 31 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Malik Beasley added 17 points, three rebounds and a block. The Jazz shot 46 percent from the field, including 18-of-47 from deep.

Meanwhile, Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 31 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two blocks, in 42 minutes. CJ McCollum followed up with 28 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks, while Larry Nance and Naji Marshall added 13 points each. The Pelicans shot 47.5 percent from the field, including 12-of-30 from long range.

The Pelicans (18-10) will look to bounce back as they take on the Suns in Phoenix on Saturday. The Jazz (17-14) take on the Bucks in Milwaukee on Saturday.
