Nuggets Defeat Suns in OT, 128-125
The Denver Nuggets defeated the visiting Phoenix Suns in OT, 128-125, at Ball Arena on Sunday.

While there were only six ties and six lead changes in this game, it took an overtime session to determine a winner. The Nuggets actually started the extra frame on an 8-3 run to take control, never relinquishing the lead after that. With that said, Phoenix missed a game-tying three in the closing seconds of overtime. Denver shot 25-of-34 from the free-throw line, while Phoenix connected on just 18-of-26. In addition, the Nuggets outscored the Suns in the paint, 52-40. Their starters also outscored the Suns starters, 117-67.

The Suns (19-15) were led by Landry Shamet, who provided 31 points, two rebounds and six assists. Deandre Ayton led the starters with 22 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Chris Paul collected 17 points, four rebounds, 16 assists and two steals. Mikal Bridges and Torrey Craig had 13 points apiece.

The Nuggets (21-11) got another triple-double from Nikola Jokic, collecting 41 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists. Aaron Gordon accrued 28 points, 13 rebounds and two assists. Jamal Murray totaled 26 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope compiled 15 points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday, with Denver traveling to face the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix staying on the road to play the Memphis Grizzlies.
