Heat Edges Timberwolves, 113-110
The Miami Heat defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 113-110, at FTX Arena on Monday night.

The Heat (17-17) knew it would have an uphill battle to get to .500 with both Jimmy Butler (ankle) and Bam Adebayo (shoulder) sidelined, but Miami set a confident early tone by scoring 59 first-half points on the way to a three-point halftime lead. The hosts then added another four points to their advantage over the Timberwolves (16-18) in the third quarter, but Minnesota clawed back to get within three with just over 28 seconds remaining, but they never scored another point and sealed their fate on a D'Angelo Russell turnover just before the buzzer.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 29 points, adding seven assists, six rebounds, two steals and one block. Naz Reid generated a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double that included two assists and one block. Jaden McDaniels furnished 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Russell totaled 13 points, eight assists and three rebounds. Rudy Gobert and Austin Rivers posted matching 10-point contributions while pulling down eight and five rebounds, respectively.

Max Strus paced the Heat with 19 points, adding three rebounds. Kyle Lowry supplied 18 points, nine assists, five boards and one steal. Orlando Robinson delivered 15 points, nine boards, four assists, one steal and one block. Tyler Herro registered 14 points, eight assists, two rebounds and three steals. Gabe Vincent netted 11 points.

The Timberwolves remain on the road and visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, while the Heat hot the Lakers on Wednesday night as well.
