Best NBA Bets Today
De'Aaron Fox over 24.5 points (-102) at Portland Trail Blazers
FanDuel, 2:27 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Recurring absences for Portland have cut into their effectiveness on defense, with the team allowing 123.0 points per 48 minutes across the past 10. San Antonio is dealing with injuries of their own, which has forced Fox to become more of an offensive hub than expected. Over the past five games, he's averaging 26.0 points on 50.6 FG%. Portland usually plays a drop coverage to prevent easy dunks from bigs and threes from shooters from the pick-and-roll, but that means they're often vulnerable to three-level scorers like Fox who can operate in the mid-range.
Mark Williams over 12.5 points (-120) at Sacramento Kings
BetMGM, 2:38 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Williams' scoring can be up and down, but he's averaging 16.0 points across his past three and 13.6 points in his last 13. The Kings have struggled to guard bigs all season, notably giving up 113 points to Nikola Jokic in three games and 33 to Isaiah Hartenstein earlier this month. Sacramento has been especially bad against pick-and-rollers and post-ups.
Duncan Robinson O2.5 made threes (+108) at Boston Celtics
DraftKings, 4:00 PM CT
Nick Whalen: Robinson is coming off of a disaster game on Monday (1-of-8 from three), but prior to that he'd hit at least three three-pointers in seven straight games and 11 of his last 12. The Celtics are dead-last in the NBA in pace, but they still give up 36.3 opponent three-point attempts per game — right about league average.
Amen Thompson O31.5 PTS+REB+AST (-145) at Warriors
BetMGM, 4:00 PM CT
Nick Whalen: This number is on the rise at other books — up to 33.5 at BetRivers as I type this — and, in my mind, rightfully so. The Rockets are down Kevin Durant, Steven Adams and Tari Eason tonight, and with that trio off the floor, Thompson averages nearly three more assists per 36 minutes, while seeing a six-percentage-point jump in usage rate. Thompson is coming off of a 28-point, seven-rebound, eight-assist performance against Phoenix on Monday.
