Rest-of-Season Projections
Bound for Tribe at pick No. 95
The Indians have selected Halpin with the 95th overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft.
ANALYSIS
A potential leadoff-hitting center fielder, Halpin has plus speed and a chance to develop an above-average hit tool with average power from the left side. At six-foot and 180 pounds, there's a chance his speed declines as he matures physically, which, coupled with an inconsistent throwing arm, could force a move to left field. It seems unlikely that the California prep will provide enough offensive impact to profile in a corner, so he needs to maintain his speed and improve his defense.
