Gets start at third base
Sogard started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays.
ANALYSIS
Sogard led off the fourth inning with a double and scored Boston's third run. He's 3-for-7 with three doubles over the last two games, which included a turn at shortstop in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader sweep of the Twins. Sogard will operate as a utility infielder, while Romy Gonzalez, who started at third base the first three contests after Rafael Devers (shoulder) landed on the injured list, appears to be the preferred option at the hot corner.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Pushing for MLB debut
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Sogard is in the conversation to contribute at the major-league level, reports Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Sogard was acquired from the Rays in early 2021 and has never been viewed as more than a fringe prospect, but he's enjoyed a strong campaign at Triple-A Worcester this year with a .297/.409/.466 slash line through 69 games. Boston has started seven different players at second base this season, and the 26-year-old could be added to that list if the big club suffers some more injuries. He doesn't offer significant power or speed -- he totaled seven homers and 17 steals in 112 games during 2023 -- and likely wouldn't have much fantasy upside.
