Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wiemer spent 2024 with two teams and was shipped to a third organization in the offseason when the Reds sent him and Jonathan India to Kansas City for Brady Singer. He opened with Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate in Nashville before a couple of stints with the Brewers early in the season. Primarily a center fielder that can play all three outfield positions, Wiemer hinted at 20-20 potential in the lower levels of the minors, but upper-level pitching (AAA and MLB) got the best of him. He has a .627 OPS across two MLB seasons and doesn't get on base enough (.279 OBP) to take advantage of stolen-base skills. The Royals, who are set in center field with Kyle Isbel, view Wiemer as a long-term investment with untapped potential and will have him compete for a fourth outfielder job. Read Past Outlooks

Pops first homer of 2025
Wiemer went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Nationals.
Analysis
The 26-year-old outfielder took Mitchell Parker deep in the fifth inning, giving Wiemer his first homer in the majors this season. Through eight games since joining the Marlins' roster, he's batting .259 (7-for-27) with six RBI, but a 0:14 BB:K offers little reassurance that he'll remain productive.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2022
Wiemer came up just short of making the Brewers' Opening Day roster but was added for the second game of the season after Luis Urias got hurt on Opening Day. The rookie operated as the team's everyday center fielder for four months and offered flashes of production, including in June when he posted an .848 OPS with six home runs. Wiemer struggled with consistency and in making contact (28.3 percent strikeout rate), though, and eventually found himself in a reserve role in August and back in the minors by September. There's 20-20 potential here if Wiemer can show some growth at the dish, but his defense is well ahead of his offense right now and Milwaukee looks to have others ahead of him on their outfield depth chart.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

More comfortable with new swing
Wiemer struggled the first week of the season at Triple-A Nashville as he got comfortable with some offseason swing changes, but he posted a .993 OPS over his last 30 plate appearances before being promoted Sunday, reports Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Analysis
The 25-year-old outfielder made significant tweaks to his swing to cut down on unnecessary movement, but he posted a .464 OPS during spring training and went 2-for-21 during the first week of the Triple-A season. Wiemer seemed to turn a corner from there and now feels more "natural" at the plate. He flashed his potential as a rookie last season with 13 homers and 11 steals in 132 games, though he hit just .204 and had a 28.3 percent strikeout rate. Wiemer could see some playing time for Milwaukee while Christian Yelich is sidelined by a back injury, but Blake Perkins has enjoyed a strong start to the season and is more likely to be a lineup regular.
