High-A Quad Cities reinstated Mitchell (wrist) from the 7-day injured list Monday.
Analysis
Mitchell has been cleared to make his 2025 debut in the Midwest League after he broke his right wrist in late February and required surgery, which kept him on the shelf for the first three months of the season. The catching prospect received the green light to join Quad Cities after he slashed .286/.487/.464 with one home run and three stolen bases in 39 plate appearances during his rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Royals receiving calls?
CKansas City Royals  A+
November 14, 2025
The Royals are believed to be receiving calls on the potential availability of Mitchell, according to Jim Bowden of The Athletic.
Analysis
Mitchell is still a prospect in the Royals' system, but he's viewed as one of the best catching prospects in all of baseball. Considering the position is well-handled at the major-league level by Salvador Perez, the Royals would be wise to entertain trade proposals for the 20-year-old, who played at rookie ball and High-A during the 2025 campaign. Mitchell hit .207 with a .668 OPS in 49 games and 216 plate appearances at the High-A level.
