2025 Fantasy Outlook
Roden came into 2024 with a stellar track record of hitting for contact and working high walk rates without ever logging an ISO over .150. He brought the same excellent contact skill (83.4 Contact%) and patience (12.1 BB%) across stops at Double-A and Triple-A while hitting 16 home runs in 125 games and slugging .473 with a 31.4 percent hard-hit rate. Roden slashed .314/.406/.510 with nine home runs, eight steals and a 14.3 percent strikeout rate in 71 games at Triple-A while seeing time in all three outfield spots, but primarily the corners. Given his track record of getting on base (career .407 OBP in the minors), Roden just needs to hit for 20-homer power to provide enough value to be in the lineup most days, even as a left fielder. He's not known for being a great athlete and his 38 steals over the past two seasons were mostly the product of good reads while being on first base a lot. He's not on the 40-man roster yet, but Roden doesn't have anything left to prove at Triple-A, so it's just a matter of awaiting his chance. Read Past Outlooks

Knocking on door
Roden was singled out by general manager Ross Atkins as the Blue Jays prospect who could make the biggest impact this season, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In the past, the GM has diplomatically listed a number of names when asked this question at the beginning of camp, but this spring he didn't equivocate. "He's just done so much to put himself in a position to move through the system quickly," Atkins said, "with the way he goes about his job, the contact rates, the shape of his offense, the fact that [he's valuable] on both sides of the ball, his baserunning, stealing bases, he plays defense at a solid level, he's very physical with upside, the power. He's an exciting piece." The Anthony Santander signing blocked any chance Roden might have had to open the season on the big-league roster, but the 25-year-old could make his MLB debut later this year, especially if the Jays are having trouble filling their leadoff spot.
