Across two seasons in Chicago, Mastrobuoni has turned into a serviceable utility player with limited offensive upside. The left-hand hitting batter appeared in 50 games for the Cubs in 2024 and posted a .194/.245/.224 slash line with no home runs. Mastrobuoni was a bit better in 2023, when he posted a .609 OPS and one long ball across 61 games while also swiping 13 bags in just 14 attempts. The 29-year-old can play pretty much anywhere in the field, and his speed is a useful asset when he's on base. However, he simply doesn't hit or play enough to really move the fantasy needle. Heading into 2025, Mastrobuoni will likely compete for an Opening Day bench spot, but he could also start the year with Triple-A Omaha. Injuries on the MLB roster could open up a larger role, though for now, Mastrobuoni isn't really a viable option. Read Past Outlooks
