2026 Fantasy Outlook
Civale lived the I-94 life in 2025 pitching for Milwaukee as well as both clubs in the Chicago market. Civale's season began with the Brewers, but a terrible five-start stretch with too many homers involved introduced talks of a bullpen role that Civale did not wish to accept. The Brewers promptly dealt him to the White Sox in what turned out to be an incredibly lopsided trade to acquire Andrew Vaughn. Vaughn came to Milwaukee hit a bunch of homers while Civale went to the south side of Chicago and picked up where he left off allowing runs while reducing his home run rate. The Cubs grabbed Civale in a trade just before the deadline as their roster was dealing with some attrition and put Civale to use in the bullpen where he pitched effectively over a small sample size. Civale is now a free agent hoping to latch on with a club as a fifth starter, but he needs an extremely friendly home park in order to be considered for anything other than 50-round draft and hold leagues or very deep mono leagues.
