Lowder impressed with Cincinnati down the stretch in 2024, but injuries prevented him from making a single big-league appearance in 2025. While rehabbing from a forearm injury, Lowder suffered a significant oblique strain, which cost him most of the season. After a lone Triple-A appearance in September, Lowder underwent an MRI on his shoulder that came back negative. It was a troubling year up and down the kinetic chain, but Lowder was able to make up for lost time a bit in the Arizona Fall League, pitching nine innings with an 8:1 K:BB across four starts. While the right-hander lacks an overpowering fastball, he throws four distinct pitches, keeping hitters off balance. The Reds selected Lowder with the seventh overall pick in 2023 and gave him a $5.7 million signing bonus, so they are heavily invested.
