2025 Fantasy Outlook
Perez was sidelined for the first couple months of the 2025 campaign while completing his rehab from Tommy John surgery, and he struggled out of the gate with a 6.19 ERA and 14:10 K:BB in his first four outings. The right-hander settled in from there with a 3.86 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in his final 16 starts, finishing the campaign with a workload of 118 innings (including his minor-league rehab starts). Perez flashed his potential as a rookie in 2023 with a 3.15 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 28.6 percent strikeout rate and 8.3 percent walk rate, and he pitched similarly well in his first year back from surgery. There are some volume concerns given that Perez has never delivered results over a full big-league season, but he should be able to push up to around 150-160 innings in 2026 given what his workload was last year. Still, Perez will turn just 23 years old in April and has as much upside as pretty much any young pitcher in MLB. Read Past Outlooks
