2026 Fantasy Outlook
Hader leaned on his slider more than ever in 2025, tossing it at a career-high 41 percent clip. His 55.2 percent whiff rate on the pitch was best in the league for that pitch type among those with a minimum 300 sliders thrown. It, paired with his mid-90's sinker, powered Hader to yet another dominant campaign. His 29.1 K-BB percentage ranked fifth among qualified relievers, while his 2.05 ERA (11th) and 0.85 WHIP (T-3rd) were pristine marks. Hader's stability as Houston's closer was as high as it comes in the league, but he fell short of the 30-save mark since his season ended prematurely last August due to a left shoulder strain. Hader appears to be progressing well in his rehab based on recent reports, but Houston has yet to establish a return timeline for their closer. With Hader's availability for spring training currently unknown, clicking his name in 2026 draft rooms carries some risk, but the pick could pay off huge if he proves healthy entering 2026.
