Blake Mitchell Injury: Resumes rehab stint
Mitchell (wrist) began a rehab assignment Monday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and went 1-for-3 with a home run and three walks through his first two games.
Mitchell, one of the Royals' top prospects, has had his 2025 campaign disrupted by a fractured hamate bone in his right wrist that required surgery Feb. 26. He was initially cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the ACL in early May, but he played in just four games before being shut down. Now in the process of ramping back up again, the 2023 first-round pick will likely play at least a few more games in Arizona before being activated from High-A Quad Cities' 7-day injured list.
