ANALYSIS
Soares spent the 2023 season rehabbing an ACL injury she suffered while playing collegiate basketball and finally made her debut in 2024. Her rookie season began with three starts in the club's first 13 games, during which the 24-year-old averaged 1.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists across 10.8 minutes per game. The rookie picked up playing time due to injuries to Satou Sabally (shoulder) and Natasha Howard (foot); however, Howard's return to game action June 20th sent Soares back to the bench for good. The center rarely saw the floor past that point, and Soares' season was cut short as she missed the final 11 games of the year due to a knee injury. Both Howard and Sabally are entering free agency which could bode well for Soares' playing time next season, but she will still likely have to compete for minutes with Teaira McCowan and Kalani Brown.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Selected fourth overall by the Mystics and subsequently traded to the Wings, Soares is expected to miss the 2023 WNBA season after suffering an ACL tear after just 13 games in her lone season at Iowa State. The center compiled an impressive three blocks per contest in her 13 appearances with the Cyclones last year and figures to be a factor for the Wings in 2024.
