NaLyssa Smith

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Smith was productive as a rookie in 2022 and showed improvement in her second season, averaging 15.5 points and 9.2 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game. However, her usage decreased in 2024, as she averaged 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in 24.8 minutes per game, and she'll get a fresh start in Dallas in 2025 after being traded in late January. Smith still showcased upside when given enough playing time in 2024, so she seems like a prime bounce-back candidate in 2025 as she joins a Wings frontcourt that lost Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard during the offseason. Smith doesn't generate excessive production outside of points and rebounds, but she's generally been consistent enough in those areas to have a solid fantasy floor as long as she receives enough playing time. Puts up eight points Friday
FDallas Wings
May 3, 2025
Smith finished with eight points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, an assist and a block across 16 minutes in Friday's 112-78 preseason loss to the Aces.
ANALYSIS
Smith had a rough 2024 season with the Fever and posted career-low numbers in several categories, but she hopes to have a fresh start with the Wings in 2025. Even though it'd be impossible to judge what of impact she'll have based off one preseason appearance, it's worth noting she finished as the second-best scorer among the starters, behind rookie Paige Bueckers and ahead of star guard Arike Ogunbowale.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The No. 2 overall pick in 2022 enjoyed a strong rookie season and built upon that success a year ago. In 31 appearances (28 starts), Smith posted 15.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field. That was a notable increase from her rookie campaign when she shot 41.9 percent from the floor. Smith did take a step back as an outside threat, however, taking only 2.2 threes per game and hitting at a 28.4 percent clip - down from 3.0 and 38.1 percent, respectively, in 2022. Entering the 2024 season, Smith is a key piece of the Fever's young foundation alongside Aliyah Boston. Indiana will also add another big name -- perhaps Caitlin Clark -- with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The arrival of a player like Clark, or even Stanford's Cameron Brink, could cloud Smith's role going forward, but she has the upside to finish as a top-30 player in fantasy leagues. Smith provides a strong boost in points, boards and field-goal percentage, but she's not a great free-throw shooter (career 64.8% FT) and offers little in terms of defensive stats.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft appeared in (and started) 32 games as a rookie, notching averages of 13.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 combined steals/blocks per game. Her scoring and rebounding averages led all first-year players. Smith also shot 41.9 percent from the field and an impressive 38.1 percent from three (1.2 3PM/G). Heading into Year 2, Smith will continue to be the focus of the Fever's rebuild. She projects to start at one forward spot and team with Kelsey Mitchell to handle much of the offensive workload.
