Kelsey Plum

30-Year-Old GuardG
 Los Angeles Sparks  WNBA
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Plum spent the first seven years of her career playing for one organization, and her production skyrocketed over the past three seasons while the Aces were championship contenders. She served exclusively as a starter over those three years and averaged 18.9 points, 4.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 33.1 minutes per game. However, she'll don a new uniform in 2025 after being traded to Los Angeles. Plum is slated to operate as the Sparks' point guard -- a role she's had for Team USA in the Olympics -- and should have the chance to maintain plenty of production as part of a relatively young roster. Plum will reunite with former teammate Dearica Hamby, who showed significant improvement in 2024, but the standout guard remains a player to target in the late first round or early second round of fantasy drafts. Racks up plenty of points again
GLos Angeles Sparks
May 27, 2025
Plum ended with 27 points (10-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds, five assists and four steals in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 88-82 loss to the Dream.
ANALYSIS
Plum has been fabulous since being acquired by the Sparks during the offseason, going for 25 or more points in four of her six appearances. She is second in the WNBA in scoring behind Minnesota's Napheesa Collier (26.8 points per game) with 25.2 points per game through six outings. Plum leads the WNBA with 3.9 made three-pointers per game, including at least three makes in five of her six outings.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2022
Plum is one of the key players to the Aces’ success, but her stats declined slightly during the team’s second consecutive championship season in 2023. She averaged 18.7 points, 4.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 32.4 minutes per game while making 39 appearances. The 29-year-old is a strong scorer and shot a career-best 47.5 percent from the floor last year, but her results in secondary categories can be inconsistent. Plum had 20 performances with at least 20 points last year but was also held below 15 points on 12 occasions. Her production from beyond the arc props up her fantasy value, but her lack of consistent results outside of the scoring column can make her a less reliable fantasy option than some of the league’s other stars. Plum maintained fantasy upside even with her slight decrease in production, but managers who select her may have to deal with some occasional disappointing performances.
Plum started all 36 games last season and led the league in minutes, earning herself All-WNBA First Team honors and claiming the All-Star Game MVP Award. She also led the way in three-point makes per game and finished second in scoring, averaging 20.2 points per contest behind only Breanna Stewart. Plum doesn't contribute much around the rim, averaging just 2.7 boards per game. However, her 5.1 assists per contest last year were good for ninth-best in the league, and there's room for growth following the offseason additions of Candace Parker and Alysha Clark, though Clark has never been a dominant scorer and Parker doesn't command the ball as much as she did in her prime. The crowding of the frontcourt shouldn't disturb Plum's playing time much, and she should be positioned for another big year coming off a breakout 2022 campaign, finishing as a top-5 fantasy asset in most formats.
Plum played exclusively off the bench in 2021 after starting at least 27 games in her first two seasons with the Aces. That didn't stop her from putting up career-best scoring numbers. Plum averaged 14.8 points along with 2.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 25.6 minutes per game. Her increased scoring efforts came via an increased shot volume from 8.6 per contest in 2019 to 11.3 in 2021 and earned her the 2021 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year award. She could repeat that award if she doesn't reclaim her starting role in 2022 following the departure of Liz Cambage. Whether or not Plum continues to come off the bench, she was a consistent fantasy contributor last year and should receive attention for a starting role in most leagues.
