Diamond Miller

23-Year-Old ForwardF
 Minnesota Lynx  WNBA
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Miller showed promise as a rookie in 2023 and improved her game from beyond the arc by converting 30.7 percent of her three-point attempts after shooting just 22.0 percent from distance during her final season at Maryland. However, she had some overall struggles with efficiency and reached the charity stripe just 3.0 times per game after tallying 7.4 free-throw attempts per game as a senior with the Terrapins. The 23-year-old had some disappointing fantasy lines during her first professional season but still posted respectable results overall, averaging 12.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26.1 minutes per game over 32 appearances. She held down a starting role throughout her rookie season and should have room to grow in 2024. Miller underwent knee surgery in November, limiting her overseas play, but it seems likely that she'll be back to full health in time for the WNBA season. She won't need to handle a leading role in Minnesota as long as Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride are playing alongside her. The team also added Courtney Williams, Alanna Smith and Natisha Hiedeman ahead of the 2024 campaign, but the Lynx will presumably continue to give Miller opportunities to develop in her second season in the league. The 23-year-old guard is slightly more inconsistent than some of the other mid-round fantasy options, but she also has considerable upside if she can take a step in her development this season. Quiet campaign in 2024
FMinnesota Lynx
October 29, 2024
Miller concluded the year averaging 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists over 10.1 minutes in 21 appearances in 2024.
ANALYSIS
Miller struggled to find playing time over the course of her second WNBA season, in part due to falling down in the depth chart as well as dealing with a few different injuries over the course of the year. Miller will look to get much-needed playing time over the offseason as she aims to play a full year overseas for the first time after dealing with injuries last offseason. Miller should carve out a bit of a larger role in 2025 and could be a candidate to be selected by Golden State in the WNBA Expansion Draft in December.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
There's a reason Miller attempted the fifth-most free throws in college basketball last season. She has an explosive first step that makes her difficult to guard and the physical tools to boot, standing 6-foot-3 with a sizable wingspan. Miller can guard nearly any position on the floor and facilitate the offense when called upon, dishing out 2.9 assists per game last season. Miller's raw tools give her arguably the highest ceiling in the draft, but she'll need to improve her jump shot to reach that potential. She converted a career-low 22.0 percent from three last season despite 2.7 attempts per game from beyond the arc, a mark that will hardly make opposing defenses guard her near the three-point line. She also won't be the center of attention on a Lynx squad that features Naphessa Collier as the cornerstone, but there should be minutes available for the rookie flanking Kayla McBride in the backcourt.
