Al-Shahrani underwent the second stage of surgery in Riyadh Sunday after suffering a tournament-ending head injury in the World Cup opener, Saudi Arabia have announced.

Al-Shahrani had to come out of last week's win over Argentina after suffering a serious head injury, and he had to withdraw from the World Cup and fly back to Saudi Arabia in order to receive treatment. Both stages of his operations were successful and he is expected to make a full recovery.
