Lewis Hall Injury: Close to return

Hall (hamstring) is close to returning to the match squad but will not be available for the Carabao Cup clash against Tottenham as the game comes too soon for him, coach Eddie Howe said in the press conference. "Lewis is the closest to coming back out of those injured, but this game will come too quickly for him."

Hall has been back on grass since last week and is nearing a return to the Magpies' match squad. The defender will be too short to feature against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup since the game comes too soon for him, but he could be in good position for Sunday's clash against West Ham if everything goes fine until then. A return would be positive news for Newcastle, although he has mainly been a bench option this campaign and his comeback is unlikely to impact the starting lineup much.
