A subpar qualifying effort would put the Haas youngster 14th on the starting grid. However, Bearman would make up for it as soon as the lights went out. Mayhem in the mid-field on the opening lap would see him leap to P7 almost immediately. Charles Leclerc would claw one of those spots back a few laps later, but Bearman would pit out of P8 on lap 17. The second half of the grand prix would see him have great battles with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon. He would slide into a P12 finish but promote two spots to 10th-place with the double McLaren DQ. The effort extended his current points streak to five races.
