Simpson used the numerous yellow flags aggressively, as three of his four total pit stops came under caution. That helped him take a massive leap from a qualifying position of 23rd to record his second top-six finish in his last three races. Simpson now has 140 points for the season and is logging much better finishes than his first year in IndyCar.
