2024 Fantasy Outlook
The leading rookie of the year candidate replaces Kevin Harvick in the No. 4 Stewart Haas Racing Ford after this retirement at the conclusion of 2023. Berry comes to the Cup Series after three full seasons of Xfinity Series action and some truck series experience. He's a bit older than the average rookie driver at a seasoned 32-years-old. Berry made 10 starts in NASCAR's top division last season doing relief driver duty. He'd show his capabilities by nabbing three Top 10's in those starts. Berry checks all the boxes regarding maturity, experience and some Cup action to acclimate to the cars. However, his biggest limiting factor in 2024 could be the team situation at Stewart Haas Racing. He'll be paired with ace crew chief, Rodney Childers, but the team is clearly in regression right now and looking at a youth movement among their drivers. Berry will easily capture ROTY this season, but they'll be a steep learning curve as well. Read Past Outlooks
Crash and DNF at Kansas
NASCAR Cup
September 29, 2024
Berry crashed and finished 38th in the Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway Sunday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
Berry's day at Kansas Speedway would turn foul quickly. On the opening lap as the field exited turn 2 to head down the back straight, cars at the rear of the field would stack up 4-wide. Contact between Harrison Burton, Ty Dillon and Berry would send all drivers spinning. Berry's No. 4 Ford would suffer flat tires all the way around and he couldn't make it back to pit road under his own power. His day would be done and the SHR driver would be slapped with his ninth DNF of the season.

2023
2022
2021
Berry's first full season of Xfinity Series racing would be a tremendous success last year. The JR Motorsports driver would win three races and collect 20 Top-10 finishes en route to a championship challenging drive. Berry would make a deep playoff run and wind up fourth in the final standings after the championship finale in Phoenix. With Ty Gibbs and Noah Gragson now moved on to the NASCAR Cup Series, it would appear Berry is in the position to be the odds-on favorite to win the 2023 Xfinity Series championship. He returns to the No. 8 JRM team and crew chief Taylor Moyer. The duo will continue to build on the success of their great 2022 campaign and look to be the team to beat in terms of the title in this division of NASCAR.
This team was JRM's driver rotation entry in 2021, but it will belong solely to Berry in the upcoming season. The young driver impressed last year with just 22 starts in this division of NASCAR. Berry would grab two wins and nab a dozen Top-10 finishes in that partial schedule. The Tennessee native was so impressive that JR Motorsports decided to give him a full slate in 2022. He'll partner with crew chief Taylor Moyer, and the duo will look to win more races and possibly contend for this season's championship. At 31-years-old Berry is more mature and seasoned than most of the prospect drivers in the Xfinity Series. He should be very strong in his first full schedule with this very capable race team.
This team is JR Motorsports' driver rotation entry. JRM fields the car for the full season, but rotates drivers throughout the schedule. Daniel Hemric and Jeb Burton were the chief pilots last season, and they nabbed 11 Top-5 and 19 Top-10 finishes. That speaks volumes of that duo's experience. The team will take a bit of a step back in 2021 as youngsters Berry and Mayer take over the No. 8 team. Berry is tabbed to race 12 events early in the schedule, and then Mayer will race many events in the second half of the season. They will be joined by team owner, Earnhardt Jr., who is poised to make his usual single start, likely in the Martinsville event. This team will see a bit of a downturn in performance this season due to the youth movement of their drivers, but they'll still compete at a very high level.
