Less than two months after being inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, legendary driver Elliott has been selected for induction into yet another notable motorsports hall of fame. This September, the 1988 Winston Cup champion will become the 95th inductee in the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame, NBC Sports reports.

In a recent interview with Bristol Motor Speedway, Elliott indicated his days of Sprint Cup Series racing may be over, Bristol Motor Speedway PR reports. "I ran twice last year and that was enough for me," Elliott said. "Now about all I do is try to keep up with Chase and our Late Model program."

This weekend will mark a major milestone for Turner Motorsports, which fields three teams in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and three teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The team will make its debut in the Sprint Cup Series with veteran and legend, Elliott in the No. 50 Chevrolet, .

Turner Motorsports announced that Trent Owens will serve as crew chief of the No. 50 Walmart Chevy with driver Elliott in the team's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at Daytona International Speedway in July, Turner Motorsports PR reports.

Elliott's NEMCO Motorsports team found a motor issues in his No. 97 Toyota after Wednesday's practice for Thursday's qualifying races and had to make a motor change, 41NBC.com reports.
