Dolidze defeated Anthony Smith via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 303 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Accepting this fight almost exactly a week ago, Dolidze did more than enough to win, even if it was far from an impressive performance. Roman did a nice job working over Smith's lead leg with kicks and then ended up on top after the latter slipped early in Round 2. That led to the most damaging blows of the bout, but nothing that came close to resulting in referee Marc Goddard stepping in. Instead, the fight went the distance, and Dolidze took a decision. This fight was contested at light heavyweight, but it was mentioned on the broadcast that the UFC was targeting a middleweight fight between Dolidze and Caio Borralho for later this summer, so perhaps that fight will still take place.
