Gifted decision by judges
Fakhretdinov defeated Carlos Leal via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 308 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
We've seen plenty of bad decisions in recent months, but this one takes the cake. Entering as a -220 favorite against the debuting Leal, Fakhretdinov was unable to generate any consistent offense the entire bout. He predictably tried to lean on his wrestling, but failed on 17-of-19 takedown attempts. That allowed Leal to pull ahead on the feet and clearly win the fight, only to have judges Mike Bell, David Lethaby and Hadi Mohamed Ali intervene. As for Fakhretdinov, he remains undefeated in six UFC bouts (5-0-1), but he's been far less impressive in the last three than the first three.

Receives new opponent
Fakhretdinov will now fight Carlos Leal at UFC 308 on Oct. 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Nursulton Ruziboev was forced to withdraw from the bout for undisclosed reasons, so Fakhretdinov will now match up against Leal, who will be making his UFC debut next Saturday. Fakhretdinov has yet to take a loss (4-0-1) during his time with the promotion, and he'll possess a two-inch reach advantage over his new opponent.

Set for Abu Dhabi
Fakhretdinov will match up against Nursulton Ruziboev for UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Oct. 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The undefeated Russian will get his sixth UFC match after a close win via split decision against Nicolas Dalby in June. Fakhretdinov has more experience in the UFC (4-0-1) over Ruziboev, but Ruziboev has been in the professional fighting business longer and also holds a two-inch reach advantage.

Remains undefeated in UFC
Fakhretdinov defeated Nicolas Dalby via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
ANALYSIS
Fakhretdinov had his moments, but you'd like to see a bit more dominance from a -360 favorite. To Rinat's credit, he never really slowed down, but Dalby is impossible to finish, and that made this fight more difficult than it probably should have been. Ultimately, Fakhretdinov won this fight on the strength of five successful takedown attempts, good for 6:17 worth of control time. A solid grappler with power, Fakhretdinov is undefeated in his first five UFC bouts (4-0-1), but three of the four wins have come via submission, and he's had some very hairy moments in the past couple fights.

Fighting at Saudi Arabia
Fakhretdinov is scheduled to compete against Nicolas Dalby in a welterweight fight at UFC Saudi Arabia on June 22, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Fakhretdinov will look to bounce back after coming out quite lucky with a majority draw in his previous fight against Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos. He will need at least a little bit more luck against Dalby, who finished his 2023 by winning each of his three bouts.
