Ochoa defeated Cody Durden via KO (punches) at 0:11 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlanta.

Ochoa dropped his UFC debut to a legitimate prospect in Lone'er Kavanagh in November but looked pretty good in the process. He found himself a -220 favorite over Durden and put forth an excellent effort in enemy territory. He did give up a pair of Round 1 takedowns, but he dominated the striking exchanges between the two. He got right back on the offense to start the second frame, crushing Durden with an uppercut before putting him away just 11 seconds into Round 2. It would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Still just 24 years of age, Ochoa is a quality young addition to the flyweight division.

Kavanagh closed with a 51-50 edge in significant strikes landed and neither man landed a takedown. It felt like the correct decision simply because it felt like Kavanagh landed some of the bigger shots, but Ochoa showed plenty in his company debut. We'll see him in the octagon once again.
